Process Design and System Simulation
Sente Corporation's expertise in process and simulation has helped a range of clients to improve their businesses

Building Move Simulation

Sente Corporation designed a board-game simulation of a the twelve-week corporate move from three existing buildings to a new headquarters building. The game is used to demonstrate to move coordinators and senior management the complexity of the move. The simulation will be used by the entire company as a status check during the extended move process in the fall of 1999.

Real Estate Development Process Streamlining

Sente Corporation conducted a two day session that brought together Architects, Civil Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, Construction Managers, Development Managers, and a national Retailer to reduce the development process for new stores f rom 11 months to 9 months. The goal was achieved through a combination of the development of new communications and information management systems, training and education systems for faster ramp-up of new players, and redesigning the flow of activities th roughout the development process to shift the critical path. The end of the session produced a number of "Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals" that will be tested in the upcoming months and could yield much greater returns over the next several years.

Large Scale System Integration Simulation

Sente Corporation was contracted to assist in the design of a session for a major pharmaceutical company that was migrating to a new process and workflow-based suite of software. In order to integrate the people doing the work with the technicians writing the code, a two-day simulation was conducted that allowed the users to experiment with how the system would actually work before final coding. The system was "stress-tested" by inserting wildcard scenarios into the simulation to see how the process flow diagrams and the people using them co uld handle contingencies. The specifications and parameters for writing the whole system were developed in the course of this four-day session.

Training Through Simulation

Sente Corporation designed a two day simulation for Adventist Education to use to introduce teachers to a new, computer-based, remote learning system and educational methodology.

iThink Modeling

Sente Corporation developed simulations of a developer's growth projections using iThink software. The simulations demonstrated an unforeseen need to hire a larger sales force immediately and increase a line of credit in order to meet projections. The simulation was developed over time through a series of exploratory meetings and iterations of design.
