New
Business Creation
|
|
Sente Corporation conducted a two-day planning
session for a $400 million Design/Build firm. The object of the
session was to create a new line of business, develop the business
plan, and produce a presentation for the board of directors. In
the first day-and-a-half all of the key components of the plan were
executed including a cybernetic model of the process that the new
firm would use to execute its projects. This cybernetic model clearly
showed where the lag times would be, when in the year projects could
begin (based on mandated project completion windows), when marketing
needed to take place, and how staffing and cash flow would be affected.
It also indicated guidelines for maximum rate of growth of the firm
without precipitating a collapse. From this process model, staffing
plans, budgets, deal models, goals, and strategies w ere developed.
Sente Corporation employed the use of iThink systems dynamics software
to help facilitate these objectives. Sente Corporation also completed
a dynamic visual presentation of the business plan within a few
days after the end of the session.

Re-creation
|
|
In a two-day session, an internal application
design and development group re-created itself as a stand-alone
business. The group developed products and services to sell to the
rest of their organization, a structure that facilitated the generation
of new projects and the on-going development of client relationships,
and a process for attracting clients and delivering applications
rapidly and efficiently.

Business
Planning as Marketing
|
|
A long-time client frequently uses a Sente
Collaborative Session as a marketing tool for its real-estate financing
services. Sente Corporation facilitated a strategic planning session
for a restaurant franchisor. The real-estate finance representitives
worked with the franchisor's sernior management team for two days
to build and test several growth models, finally choosing the best
of the options for implementation...using the financier's services.
Two days of working together on the franchisor's business allowed
the two groups to build the kind of relationship that is not possible
in more traditional sales efforts.

and challenges emerging in its region due to changing demographics,
diversifying learning needs of students, new technological advancements
and increased competition in the learning market. The group selected
several strategic directions to explore and designed experiments
to test the viability of those directions. These experiments were
